In 2005 Vision numeric has celebrated its 3rd partnership’s anniversary with Dassault Systèmes.
Dassault Systèmes is the world leader in the development of PLM and CAD/CAM solutions distributed by IBM. CATIA solutions allow the definition and simulation of numerical products.
Vision numeric is one of the 4 main partners of Dassault Systèmes to implement complementary solutions in CATIA V5.
Type3 integrates typographic art into CATIA V5, thus allowing industrial parts to serve as communications tools.

Type3 Graphic, Type3 Graphic&Wrap and Type3 Gateway CAAV5 Based are based upon the Dassault Systemes V5 Component Application Architecture (CAA) and have been developed in close partnership with Dassault Systemes. They give CATIA V5 users integrated access to Type3 and increase the opportunities to include typographic art earlier in the product lifecycle.
These products are focused on providing design engineers with access to a specific range of tools to enrich industrial parts with logo designs, artistic texts, serial numbers, legal mentions, etc, directly in CATIA V5. As engraving and making publicity on industrial parts has become a trend that is here to stay, these new capabilities had to exist for ensuring the respect of the graphic standart from the graphic creation Studio to the Workshop. As a result of integrating engraving and decoration within the conception process, users benefit from immediate productivity gains.

Type3 Graphic, which gives CATIA V5 users access to professional typographic and logo application functions, along with the use of a scanner run directly by CATIA V5. Users can vectorize an imported model in order to get the exact contours of the original model or design.

Type3 Gateway provides the copy/paste function, allowing the transfer of information between CATIA V5 and Type3.

| Type3 Graphic Package |
|
Provides CATIA V5 users with professional V5 integrated Typographic/Text capabilities and logo handling coupled with the use of a scanner directly driven in CATIA V5. Users can scan and vectorize a logo to precisely retrieve its contours. Users can also use True Type fonts directly in CATIA V5.
Furthermore, users can modify the parameters as they wish since all changes are associative. They also benefit of a comprehensive symbol library with over 800 pre-registered symbols and can work under any Windows languages (Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Japanese, etc…).

| Type3 Graphic & Wrap Package |
In addition of Graphic Package, and also totally V5 integrated, it enables CATIA V5 users to project the text or map the graphic design onto any 3D shape to the required position and provide users with standard, conical, and cylindrical projections/mapping.
Any text you project on a 3D shape is re-editable and any change you make appears directly in CATIA V5 thanks to the associativity of the solutions.

| Type3 Gateway Package |
Provides Copy/Paste functions allowing data transfer between CATIA V5 and Type3. Copy and paste any kind of entities (text, drawings, dials,NURBS curves, TypeArts, etc…) as well as any special effects (like textures, bas-reliefs, etc…) from Type3 to CATIA V5.
Main features include graphic drawing, editing mode, special effects such as Offset and envelopes, special functionalities (serial, nesting, etc), bas relief artistic creation, sweeping of 3D profiles on 2D contour, texture creation or Sculptart with 3D real time sculpting and graphic tablet are among the possibilities of the solutions.
