History |

In 1987, Michel (Mike) Bonneton had the idea of cutting text and logos from artwork, and due to the absence of technology in that matter, they started to develop the very first artistic CAD CAM software in the world. In 1988, the first copy of Type3 was installed, and already clients started to feed Vision Numeric with wishes and challenges.
In 1991, Type3 saw its second major kick in the market with the release of the very first 2.5D machining strategy, where conical tool would climb up before collision, leaving a sharp angle on the surface. Quickly after, specific Hot-stamping toolpath strategy was released, reinforcing Type3 leadership.
Pushed by lots of promises, TypeArt, the world first 3D-relief modeler was released in 1994, giving the ability to puff-up a relief or recess from a 2D artwork.
Promises became revenues.

In parallel, Type3 gained more and more partnership, with prestigious companies such as Gravograph-New Hermes, Mecanumeric, Dassault Systems (SolidWords and Catia V5), ETA, Goodyear, Stuller, etc…
Today, thanks to the long-lasting vision of our chairman Michel Bonneton, Vision Numeric proud itself with 14 developers focused on the artistic CAD CAM applications among 50 employees, subsidiaries around the world, strong network of faithful resellers all around the world and more than 30,000 licenses installed.

The US operations have started in 1998, and are helping prestigious references to go beyond their technical challenges. Among them are Commemoratives Brands (Tache USA, Balfour, etc), Ashley Furniture, Goodyear, Trigard Bronze, etc…. Like any good business, 80% of our clients are 1 to 20 people companies (see success stories).
